Adonis Singson and Madeline Carter had mixed fortunes at the finish line but still topped their respective divisions in the Philippine College of Surgeons (PCS)-Cebu Pink October Run.
Singson actually finished second to Mendel Lopez in the men’s 10-K event but claimed the title after organizers ruled that runners who didn’t join their previous races will be ruled as “fun runners” only, thus Lopez was disqualified.
Gabrile Zabate and Charlie Berberio finished second and third, respectively in the men’s division.
Madeline Carter ruled the women’s division, taking control of the race in the absence of more seasoned runners. Carter maintained a blistering pace and left behind Claire Maranga and Marina Fajardo.
Veteran Ruth Banzon took the executive class title over Robert Juban and Andy Calcaben.
Emily Chiongbian showed her class by ruling the female executive class. Girlie Ong finished second while Sarah Dupio came in third.
Dr. Potenciano “Yong” Larrazabal III lived up to expectations as he took the all-doctor’s title over Dr. Peter Mancao and Dr. Mat Tipgos. Dr. Rosan Trani crossed the finish line unchallenged in the women’s category.
The Cebu Road Runners Club sanctioned the said race with Sight First Running Club providing the technical support.-Caecent No-ot Magsumbol
