Rotary clubs of Baguio, Dadiangas and Iloilo won in various events to lead the 17th National Rotary Metro Sportsfest at the Cebu City Sports Club in Cebu Business Park.

Mike Ramat started Baguio’s day by winning the individual golf event. Later he paired with Jun Basabica to win the two-man event.

Dadiangas’ Mawe Ferolino and Ed Manansala of Novaliches finished second and third, respectively, in the individual event.

Baguio also chalked up another win, this time in poker with Eric Rodriguez beating Butch Flores of Dadiangas and Lory Wong of Iloilo.

Dadiangas showed its prowess in basketball, beating Angeles, 92-65. Iloilo also barged into the win column by winning over San Fernando 86-67.

Dadiangas continued its winning ways in swimming. Regie Valeroso took the 50-meter backstroke while Doods Lapis won the 50-meter breaststroke.

Angeles also won in the pool, taking the 50-meter and 100-meter freestyle events through the efforts of Eduard Ifurung.

Dadiangas and Iloilo continued their winning form in track and field events. Dadiangas’ Jun Roda won the 1200-meter race and his teammate Arnel Roda ruled the 100-meter sprint.

The Ilonggos showed better teamwork by ruling the 4x100-meter relay.

Bacolod recorded victory in table tennis when John Lizares and Joel Jaranilla won the doubles title. Elben Leonida and Dan Marcellana of Metro Iloilo finished second while Alvin Chincuanco and John Juico of Metro San Fernando took the third spot.
