Fireflies lead in Aloguinsan hoopfest
The Firefly Lighting quintet posted back-to-back victories in the Aloguinsan 2007 Basketball Tournament including an OT win over Barili Selection, 115-101, at the Aloguinsan Alodome.
Barili posted an eight-point lead 79-71, with six minutes left in the game and were about to snatch the victory when the Fireflies rallied and finally tied the count at 93-all.
The complexion of the game completely changed in the overtime period. Team Firefly picked up where it left off to outscore Barili, 22-8, for the hard-earned victory.
Walden Fuentes and Jojo Belano anchored the Fireflies’ OT attack, finishing with 25 points and 18 points, respectively.
The Fireflies are now on top of the standings with a 2-0 win-loss slate.
