Firefly wins anew in Carcar caging

The Firefly Lighting squad scored back-to-back victories at the expense of host Naga, 70-68, in the open division of the 2007 Carcar Vice Mayor’s Cup basketball tournament at the Vallalonid Sports Complex in Carcar City.

Firefly controlled the tempo of the match in the first half that resulted into a 42-26 advantage at the bend.

Behind the leadership of Marvin Abapo, Firefly continued to dominate the action until Naga staged a fierce comeback in the final quarter.

After posting a 68-all deadlock, Ken Abatayo completed his endgame heroics by delivering the winning freebies for Firefy. Abatayo paced Firefly with 11 points followed by Abapo and Jojo Belano with 10 markers apiece. - Caecent No-ot Magsumbol
