Around 200 booters of Cebu International School (CIS) are expected to take part in the free football clinic to be spearheaded by RP Team member Chad Alesna Gould today at the CIS grounds in Brgy. Pit-os, this city.
Cebu Football Association (CFA) director Jackie Deen Lotzof said the event is very beneficial for the students to further enhance their skills and knowledge of the sport.
“Gould can serve as a role model to our Cebuano children, to encourage them to do well both with their academics and football,”Lotzof said.
The clinic is open to children who are interested to know more about Football. It will start at 3:30 pm.Next Saturday, Chad Alesna Gould’s free football clinic will shift to Bright Academy Gym in Brgy. Banilad.
Gould started his interest in football at the age of nine playing for the Bournemouth AFC in United Kingdom and then Southampson. Later on, he became the team captain of Dorset County and Bournemouth Rep. He was granted with an educational scholarship by Brunel University while playing for their first team .He then completed his degree in Sports Science with flying colors.
Gould started his entry to the Philippine team when he suited up for the Nationals against Malaysia during the Tiger Cup in 2004. He then played as striker of Team Philippines during the 23rd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Bacolod City two years ago.
Gould will miss the action in this sear’s SEA Games in Thailand because the football event is open only to players aged 23 years old and below. Gould is now looking forward though to representing the country in the Challenge Cup in March next year. — Iste Sesante-Leopoldo
