Ouano sizzles in Dapitan City Invitational drag race

Mandaue’s Kenneth Ouano made an impact in his only competition as a drag racer via the Dapitan City Invitational Drag Race.

The 18-year-old Ouano, who is groomed by the Norkis-sponsored Plaza Boiz-Club Yamaha as the next big thing in the said sport after Popeye Rubi, won the champion’s trophy in the modified class.

Ouano, according to Popeye Rubi, started out well in the super-stock category, but could only make it until the semifinal round due to engine trouble.

After his bike was fixed by his teammates, Ouano made up from that setback by topping the modified class.

Ouano hopes to nail back-to-back victories as he and some of his teammates compete in another drag race event next month in Cabancalan, Negros Occidental.

Aside from Norkis, the Plaza Boiz is also supported by Antiquos Muebles, Cebu Newstar Motorcycle Parts, MS Motosuit, Catalina Car Rental, Stick on Me, CPR Machine Shop, 888 Header Core Muffler Tech, Rocky Realty, Carlo’s Batchoy, Balamban Concrete Aggregates, Cebu Medical Supply, Ted’s Bike Shop, BFC Cyclone 1 Disco Mobile, Quickflight Bike Shop and Club Yamaha.—Caecent No-ot Magsumbol
