Cebu leg defending champion Eugene Delposo can’t wait for the Cebu eliminations of this year’s 31st Milo Marathon, prompting him and his teammate Riez Enriquez to compete in the Bohol qualifying race set this Sunday in Tagbilaran City.
Delposo and Enriquez want to avoid complications with their fellow varsity at the University of Southern Philippines, Mendel Lopez, thus, they decided to compete in Bohol.
Lopez, who qualified to the national finals after topping the Dumaguete leg last year, will return to action here in Cebu as he wants to test his might against the multi-titled Rogelio Reli and possibly Bowen Montecillo, whom Lopez heard will be back here for the Cebu action.
The other venues for the Visayas eliminations are Dumaguete on August 19, Tacloban on August 5, Roxas City on August 26, and Iloilo City on September 2.
This year’s edition features a total of 24 races including the grand finals.
This is also Milo’s way of supporting Team Philippines in its quest for gold in the 24th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Thailand this December. — Caecent No-ot Magsumbol
