Mr. and Ms. Asia-Pacific bodybuilding championships: Final judgement beckons for Pinoy aspirants tonite

Only six out of the 16 entries in the women''s division and 30 of the 130 crown pretenders in the men''s side will advance into the final round of the RP Team selection for the Mr. & Ms. Asia Pacific tonight at the University of San Carlos-South Campus Cultural Center.

Even before the pre-judging could start yesterday at the Tambuli Beach Resort, the judges decided to have a closer look at the bodybuilders.

Many failed even just to step into the pre-judging session. Only 75 made it as the rest were already rejected during the preliminary screening also yesterday.

"Grabe kaayo ang selection. Dili man ni Mr.Philippines, selection man ni para sa Mr.and Ms. Asia Pacific so grabe gyud kaayo ang screening.Dili pa gyud pwede madala ang uban. Luoy pero wala tay mahimo," event organizer Dennis Delgado told The Freeman.

Tonight''s final action will feature different classes: four in the men''s division and three in the distaff side plus the masters and mixed pair.

The men''s category will have the short, middle, middle tall and tall classes, while the women''s bracket will have the fitness, best body and figure title.

The top three winners in the different classes will represent the country in the international action set this weekend in the tropical paradise of Boracay Island.

However, should there be other potential bodybuilders who want to join the squad, they will also be included to the team but they will have to pay for their own expenses.

The event, organized by Workout Fitness Center of Dennis Delgado and sanctioned by the Samahan ng mga Barbelista ng Pilipinas headed by its president Engr. Jun Tayag, is co-presented by Lipovitan Amino Sports, Ensayo, Sungold, Trans-Asia Shipping Lines, Ultimate Nutrition Store, Carangue Printing, D''Che Salon and Spa, Tambuli Resorts, Smooth FM, DYBN, Home Radio and Energy FM and supported by Omega Pain Killer, Nigi Nigi Too Boracay, Boracay Plaza Beach Resort, Kima Glass Supply, Ban''s Beach Resort Boracay, La Plage De Boracay, Jony''s Beach Resort Boracay, Bohol Plaza Resort, San Fort Safety Tours Rent A Car, Barbie Outfits and Boracay Courtyard along with Sunrise Holiday Mansion, New Placenta Soap, New Kan-Irag Hotel, Crustal Sand Beach Resort and Carreon''s Photo Engraving.
