CIS blanks Melborne in Aboitiz Cup Girls-16

Host Cebu International School (CIS) blanked Melborne United Football Club, 5-0, in the 10th Aboitiz CebuFA Girls-16 Cup at the CIS field in Talamban.

CIS completely dominated the game as Monica Moraza took a 10-meter shot in the fourth minute to break the ice and then striker Presley Cunningham was left unmarked to make two successive goals in the 24th and 29th.

Stephanie Sharpe, sister of the RP U-21 player Miachel Sharpe, made her goal at the 43rd minute to make it 4-0 and in the dying minutes of the game, she performed a long shot at the 68th to end the conquest.

On the other hand, Sunsport-PaBol FC overpowered Bright Academy, 1-0, leaning on the efforts of Jovannah Yu, who hit the crossbar at the 53rd minute to snatch the victory.

The games the other day saw, Paref Springdale booters blanking host San Roque Football Club, 3-0, in the Aboitiz-CebuFA Boys 14 Cup at the San Roque field in Brgy. Subangdaku.

Jules Villahermosa logged two goals in the 3rd and 37th minutes and Ian Francis Holasca contributed in the 23rd for the win.

On the other hand, CIS nipped Abellana National School (ANS), 3-2.

John Ray Nieves of ANS made the first goal in the 30th and was responded by two goals from CIS’ Emilio Cunningham and Jae Min Park at 33rd and 44th, respectively. Another goal was dropped by ANS’’ Jomar Gabrillo at the 60th but this was answered back by Cunningham at the 62nd to complete the 3-2 rout.

Kuya Nick FC, however, dumped FCI, 6-1. Four out of the six goals were contributed by Prince Antony at 23rd, 35th, 53rd and 58th while the other two wer shared by Rogelio Castillon at 2nd and 37th minutes.
