Fortune says Pacman too fast and strong for unbeaten Solis

Australian ring tactician Justine Fortune, the man currently in charge of Manny Pacquiao's training, believes there is no way Jorge Solis can beat his ward saying that the Filipino ring superstar is too fast and too strong for the Mexican challenger.

Pacquiao (43-3-2, 34KOs) is set to defend his WBC International super featherweight title against the undefeated but lesser known Solis (32-0, 23KOs) in the main feature of Top Rank's "Blaze of Glory" championship card on April 14 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

Although unscathed in 32 battles, Fortune is unimpressed by Solis, even expressing confidence that the Pacman would easily devour the Mexican in their keenly-awaited 12-round showdown that will broadcast live around the globe on Pay-Per-View.

"Solis has a nice jab, but his right hand is not devastating. He's a good fighter, but he's not a Marquez or a Barrera. Manny is a triple-A fighter, while Solis is just an 'A' fighter," Fortune told fightnews.com.

"Manny will be just too fast and strong for Solis. It's as simple as that. People know Manny is fast, but they have no idea how fast until they get in the ring with him," he added.

Meanwhile, Fortune dispelled rumors that Pacquiao suffered a one-and-a-half inch cut over his left eyebrow during training.

"Manny did not get cut. It was just a scratch. In fact it didn't even break the surface of the skin! It's really nothing. Manny will continue sparring on his regular days, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays," Fortune stated in the same internet report.

Fortune said as of the moment, Pacquiao weighs 134 pounds and is 80 percent ready for the Solis match. "Manny is 134 pounds right now and he's about 80% prepared. He came to camp in good shape because he was training very hard in the Philippines. So now, it's just a matter of topping him off and not letting him overtrain," Fortune said.

In the undercards of the Pacquiao-Solis show, Fil-Am Brian "Hawaiian Punch" Viloria (19-1-, 12KOs) hopes to regain his throne as he collides with Edgar Sosa (26-5, 14KOs) for the vacant WBC light flyweight championship, while Mexican star Jorge Arce (46-3-1, 35KOs) will challenge defending title-holder Christian Mijares (30-3-2, 11KOs) for the WBC super flyweight crown.
