Ybañez, Navarro top Dosado tennis event

Bogo Lawn Tennis Club's (BOLATEC) Jean Paul Ybañez and Rene Navarro emerged as the doubles champion in the 2nd Dodo Dosado Memorial Tennis Cup played recently at the newly constructed Sogod Tennis Court in Poblacion, Sogod Cebu.

Ybañez and Navarro brought home the title after stomping the formidable tandem of Joseph Ababon and Harry Abellanosa of Pardo Tennis Club via a nerve-wracking 8-7 (7-5) decision.

The BOLATEC netters pocketed the cash prize of P5,000 and a trophy wile Ababon and Abellanosa received P3,000.

Meanwhile, in the inter-club open division, the tandem of Tibong and Joel of Cebu Commercial Tennis Club of Baseline emerged as winners after trouncing early favorites Titus Tabotabo and Dodong Ruelan of Tuburan Tennis Club, 8-6.

Tibong and Joel bagged P5,000 while Tabotabo and Ruelan settled for the runner-up prize of P3,000.

The Dosado Brothers led by Fr. Jojo Dosado, former Vice Mayor Dean Dosado and Brgy. Chairman Marlon Dosado sponsored the said event. - Marigold P. Lebumfacil
