Friendship Run today at Capitol grounds

Cebu's foot racers return action today after the First Sinulog 42-km Marathon when the ML Kwarta Padala Friendship Run starts this morning in front of the Cebu Provincial Capitol building here.

There will be three distances, which the runners can pick like the 10K, 5L and 3K divisions.

The 10K and 5K divisions will be open to all runners while the 3K action will be for runners 12 years-old and below.

Leizsl Lumindas-Getaruelas, Merlita Arias and Madelyn Carter are expected to lead the cast in the women's open while Eugene Delposo of USPF and Joseph Penales of Bohol are the top bets in the men's side.

Mendel Lopez and Joel Delposo are the early favorites in the 5K men's side while Mary Rose Arman of USPF competes in the distaff side.

The event, organized by the Sports and Fitness Enthusiasts (SAFE) led by Joel Baring, is also supported by Globe, Avia, Nature's Spring, Yayoy's Grill, Pepsi and Seiko. - Caecent No-ot-Magsumbol
