Jumapao grabs lead in Sinulog Tenpin bowling

Cebuano Jomar Jumapao of Team CETBA/Prima replaced Clark Tiu in the driver's seat after eight games in the elimination round of the 8th Metro Gaisano Sinulog Classic Tenpin Classic Open at Gaisano Bowlingplex.

Jumapao, who is under squad II downed 1,905 pins to upend first day leader Clark Tiu, who made 1,856.

Luther Tapaya of BTA also dropped to third spot with 1,831 pinfalls after all 80 participants completed their first eight games. There will be 16 games to be played.

The overall standing in the combined squad I and II results after the first two days saw James Zuluaga at fourth with 1,824 while Sammy Sy of Manila Tenpin Bowling Association (MTBA) settled fifth with 1,774.

Defending champion Benshir Layoso is at sixth spot with 1,774.

Germaine Uang, who was fourth in the first day, was dropped to seventh with 1,738 while the eighth to 10th placers were Wilebrt Yu with 1,721, Jericho Jumapao with 1,719 and Jake Yap with 1,707.

After the elimination round in this Metro Gaisano-sponsored event, the top 32 bowlers will advance to the finals today at 2pm.
