Tabotabo wins doubles crown

Marc Vince Tabotabo of Tuburan and his Malaysian partner mixed well to win the doubles crown even as he and fellow Cebuano Jacob Lagman fight for the singles title in their respective divisions today in the Milo Age-Group Tennis Cup at the Dapitan tennis courts in Manila.
Tabotabo and Agustin Chang of Malaysia won the doubles crown in the 10-under division over topseed Vince Salas and Eric Olivares of Manila, 1-6, 6-2, 10-4.
Today, Tabotabo, who is supported by Cebu vice-governor Greg Sanchez, Accord Bank and Tavo's Sports, will fight for the singles title in the 10-under division against Mark Escares.
Tabotabo scored a big upset over topseed Salas in the semifinals yesterday, 6-1, 7-6, 7-5.
Lagman, for his part, also booked a finals ticket in the 12-under division after winning over Calvin Canlas, 6-2, 6-0, in the semifinals yesterday.
He will meet Deo Talatayod for the crown.
