Mendoza bags crown in Sacred Heart Fellowship golf

Marvin Mendoza scored nines of 20 and 22 points to bag the overall title in the Sacred Heart Fellowship Golf Tournament played yesterday at the Cebu Country Club.
Mendoza won the title after pulling past Wilky Lim in the countback.
Lim settled for the division A title with his 42 points while first runner-up honors went to banker Michael Go with a two-under-par 38 points. William Hong finished as 2nd runner-up with 35 points.
Alvin Tan topped division B with 41 points on nines of 22 and 19. First runner-up was Collin Go with 39 points and 2nd runner-up was Blake Go with 37.
The Modified Stableford Scoring System was used for the players with club certified handicaps.
The division C plum went to Steve Liu with 39 points followed by Louie Uy at 1st runner-up with 38 and Raymond Calderon at 2nd runner-up with 37.
In the blind Callaway open division, Gilbert Yusingco won the title with a net score of 74 strokes off a gross 100. Jason Sy was first runner-up with a net 75 off a gross 98 while 2nd runner-up was Ritchieliu Ho with a het 76 after edging Alyson Lim in the countback.
The tournament is a prelude of the much-anticipated annual grand homecoming of the alumni of the Sacred Heart School for Boys (now SHS-Jesuit). - NLQ
