Gothong and Tan rule BTA year-end tourney

Jun-jun Gothong scored back-to-back victories after emerging as the Men's Bowler of the Year (BOY) even as Nikki Tan reigned supreme in the distaff side of the Bowlingplex Tenpin Association (BTA) finals at the Bowlingplex in Banilad.
Gothong defending his crown after toppling a total of 2,720 pins while Clark Tiu ended second with 2,558 pinfalls.
Clark's brother, Clarence Tiu was third overall with 2,475 pinfalls.
It was a very tough start for Gothong with other finalists posting better inputs in the early goings of the tournament, until the defending BOY awardee hit 277 pins in game five that gave him the edge.
In the distaff side, Tan also posted a huge win as she came out the best female bowler of the year, preventing Kim Lao from winning a grandslam.
Tan tallied 2,376 points after nine games, breaking the heart of Lao by just 19 points.
Lao settled second overall with 2,357 pinfalls as Xyrra Cabusas was third with 2,329 pinfalls.
