Queen City blanks USJ-R in Aboitiz Men's Open

Queen City United (QCU) blanked University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R), 1-0, to lead the winners yesterday in the 10th Aboitiz CebuFa Men's Open Football League held at the San Roque football field in Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

Dexter Arrojado took the cudgels for QCU as he logged the lone goal in the 39th minute of the battle.

On the other hand, the fight between University of Southern Philippines Foundation and San Roque Football Club ended in a 1-1 draw.

Junard Fuentes broke the ice in the 40th minutes to give USPF the lead but John Mayol retaliated in the 74th minute to tie the game.

The third game saw Wild Cebu trouncing Magone, 2-1.

Wild Cebu started the fire when Eddie Ybañez made his goal in the fifth minute.

Magone, for its part, leaned on Kenneth Sabella to tie the scores at 1-all as he banged in the 50th minute.

But Wild Cebu had the last laugh as Jhures Colina saw an opening in the 90th minute for the win.

The game between Crazy Horse and Don Bosco also end up in a draw.

The goals were made by Hayato Ayabe of Crazy Horse and Ramon Martin of DBTC at the 17th and 30th minutes, respectively. - Marigold P. Lebumfacil
