Sally Mae Siso continued to pounce on as she secured semifinal round tickets in two events as fellow Cebuano Vince Marc Tabotabo enters the doubles semifinals in the Perlis Milo Open International Junior Age-Group Tennis Championships 2006 in Matrikulasi Arau Perlis, Malaysia yesterday.
Siso of the University of San Carlos-South Campus kicked away Korea's Park Soyeon, 8-2, in the girls 12-under division quarterfinal round.
With the win, the fourth-seed Siso, supported by Dunlop and Osaka Iridology, advances to the penultimate round against Vietnamese Huynh Phikhanh.
Siso, who is teaming up again with Neesha Menon in the doubles competition, also got into the semifinal round today.
Siso and Menon moved forward after taking away an 8-5 win against Sharifah Syafeenaz and Nur Farahin Norwir, 8-5.
Siso and Menon will also be facing a Vietnamese opponent today.
While Siso gets closer to a grandslam in Malaysia, another Cebu bet, Vince Marc Tabotabo failed to hang on and headed to the exit doors after the third round.
Tabotabo bowed down to Thailand's top 10-under netter, Yotsapat Thoraiang, 1-8.
Buy Tabotabo managed to get back and won his second round doubles assignment with Jurence Mendoza.
Tabotabo, who is supported by Cebu Governor Greg Sanchez and Accord Bank, along with Mendoza claimed an 8-3 win over a duo from Negri Sembilan to meet Badrdul Ikram and Nik Aqel Irfan of Kel next.
Tabotabo and Mendoza won in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2 over Kel's duo, bouncing back from their misfortune in Penang last week.
Tabotabo and Mendoza advances to the semifinal round today opposite Thailand's Yotsapat Thomraiang and Chanudom Wirivaiunvon.
