Tabotabo starts strong in Perlis leg of Milo Tour

Vince Marc "Mac-mac" Tabotabo of Tuburan town is off to a good start in the Perlis Milo Open International Junior Age-Group Tennis Championships 2006, winning his second round assignment in Perlis, Malaysia yesterday.

Tabotabo and Sally Mae Siso both enjoyed a first round bye after the drawing of lots, but Tabotabo was scheduled to play his second round match ahead of Siso.

Tabotabo, who missed a medal in Penang, hopes to bounce back by taking away an 8-5 victory in the 10-under class against Nik Aqel Irfan Abdulla.

Titus Tabotabo, father-and-coach of Mac-mac, said his son is set to play against Yotsapat Thomraiang of Thailand in the next round.

On the other hand, Sally Mae Siso starts her grandslam bid today.

A pupil of the University of San Carlos-South Campus, the fourth seeded Siso will be facing Song Suna of Korea. Siso's match against Song Suna is expected to be tougher this time, as the latter wanted revenge over his loss to the Cebuana last week in Penang.

Siso also met with Song Suna during the Penang Open in the second round where she posted an easy 6-2, 6-1 win.

Siso eventually came to win the girls 12-under, saving the day of the Philippine delegation on the way to scoring back-to-back victory following her win in the Selangor Open International Junior Tennis Championships the other week.
