First Cardinal Run fires off today at Ayala

- Caecent No-ot Magsumbol -
Hundreds of runners are expected to see action this morning in the 1st Seminary Fund Run at the Cebu Business Park.

Also dubbed as the "First Cardinal Run," the run-for-a-cause will held for the benefit of seminarians of the Archdiocese of Cebu.

It will feature the premier 10-kilometer class, the 5K Fun run and the 3K Kiddies category.

The 10K and the 5K distances will have the men and women's open and the executives divisions.

The 5K run will also include a category for students and seminarians while the 3K run will have an open class together with the priests and kids division for runners 12-years old and above.

Qualified to compete under the executive division are doctors, managers, priests and corporate officers as well as priests, who can finish either a 5K or 10K distance.

There will also be an award for the most unique get-up.

The organizing group, the Cebu Archdiocesan Major Seminary Foundation Incorporated (CAMSFI), aims to help provide for the basic needs of the seminarians in the Archdiocese of Cebu, especially for its shelter which is the Seminario Mayor de San Carlos since it needs re-roofing, re-piping and re-wiring.

The event is endorsed by no less than Ricardo Cardinal Vidal.

"This activity aims to continue its objective of providing financial assistance to the seminary for the formation of our future priests. Therefore, it is my fervent hope that you will support and welcome this worthy endeavor. May God Bless you for your collaboration," says Cardinal Vidal in his endorsement letter.
