Sally Mae joins Tabotabo in quarters

- Caecent No-ot Magsumbol -
Sally Mae Siso will join fellow Cebuano Vince Marc Tabotabo in the quarterfinal round of the Penang Open International Junior Age-Group Tennis Championships after winning her assignment at the University Sains Malaysia tennis court yesterday.

Siso of the University of San Carlos South Grade School and supported by Dunlop and Osaka Iridology defeated Korean Song Suna, 6-2, 6-1, in the second round of the girls 12-under class.

The victory will give the top-seeded Siso another chance to face her doubles partner Neesha Menon in the quarterfinal round today.

Tabotabo of Tuburan was the first to get into the quarterfinals in the boys 10-under class played at the Penang Sports Club.

Tabotabo had no game in the singles event yesterday making his first doubles match with Jurence Mendoza an easy task.

Mendoza and Tabotabo, who is supported by Cebu vice-governor Greg Sanchez along with Accord Bank, Tavos and the Tuburan Elementary School, enjoyed a first round bye.

In the second round, the tandem of Tabotabo and Mendoza went well again after posting an 8-3 win over Kuala Lumpur's Saw Wye Keen, 8-3, in the game played in a grass court.

Tabotabo and Mendoza hopes to make a back-to-back victory in the doubles competition after winning the Selangor International boys 10-under doubles last week.

Siso also had a doubles game yesterday together with Neesha Menon.

However, the result of their game against Nur Alial Yans Dte Azman and Fasleen Ruslan of Perlis is still unavailable as of presstime.
