Where are you watching?

There is so much excitement about tomorrow's battle between Manny Pacquiao and Erik Morales and many are still in a quandary as to where they will be watching the event.

With many establishments subscribing to the pay per view coverage, the choices have become very varied.

I was at Yayoy's Grill and Resto Bar along Orchid St. last Thursday for the regular meeting of the Cebu City Sports Commission and what greeted me upon my arrival was not only the smiling Councilor Raul 'Yayoy' Alcoseba, but also a tarpaulin streamer announcing their offer for the Pacquiao-Morales bout.

Agaw Yayoy is excited about tomorrow's bout and is also equally excited about the preparations he is making for those watching the action at his new restaurant ran by his son Ramon.

For P250, which is consumable, you'll get to watch the action without the usual "cavalcade of commercials" that we get on free TV. To make sure you'll have a table, Agaw Yayoy said that you better contact 4124258 for reservations.

Another person, who sounded very excited about the bout is Joan Carabio-Danao, the new PR head of Cebu City Marriott Hotel, who called us up yesterday to ask if we'd be watching at their hotel just like during the World Cup.

I'd love to, but then as usual, I'll try my best to make it there. Councilor Jack Jakosalem and the Y101 crew have also invited me to join them at Parklane International Hotel while Alta Vista Golf and Country Club will also be showing the bout also on PPV at the Golfers' Bar.

Before, the only question I had to answer was "who do you think would win the bout?" I always politely refuse to make any prediction for two reasons - I am biased since I want Manny to win and I am no expert.

Now, I also get asked "where are you watching the bout?"

What really gets me seething is when I hear people comment about the bout like they are the foremost boxing analysts in the world when they don't even know the difference between a straight, a hook and an uppercut.

Everybody loves a winner and I am hoping Manny will win tomorrow since that will boost our pride as a nation.
