First MEPZCEM Fun Run kicks off this morning

A total of 1,500 participants are expected to see action in the 1st Mactan Export Processing Zone Chamber of Exporters and Manufacturers (MEPZCEM) Fun Run which starts and finish at the PEZA 1 Administration building in Lapu-lapu City early today.

Participants in today's event will be coming from the different locators of MEPZ, from the officials down to the employees.

Runners will be competing for the top post of the men's and women's division.

There will also be special awards for the liveliest and biggest group as well as the heaviest and oldest entry.

The top three finishers in both the men and women's division will get a trophy and a Timex watch.

The event, sponsored by the Halsangz, Celestica, Iwakami, Fairchild, Imcon World, Pentax, Taiyo Yuden, Timex, Hankyu, Eight-to Eight Catering, Chase Dental and MCRI, is held to foster camaraderie and friendship among employees in the area and at the same time, a fund-raising activity for the Sudtonggan Elementary School, an adopted school of MEPZCEM and its Human Resources Association (HRA).
