Pilar, San Francisco book seats to Cluster V finals in GUV Cup

San Francisco and Pilar drubbed their respective opponents to advance to the Cluster V finals in the 2nd Governor Gwen Garcia Unity Volleyball Cup For Women.

San Francisco topped the elimination in Cluster V-A while Pilar took the second honors during the games in Tudela.

San Francisco opened its bid with a tough match against Pilar and then proceeded with a convincing win against Tudela, 25-6, 25-14.

San Francisco was without challenge in their third game because Poro did not showed up for unknown reason.

On the other hand, Pilar and Tudela also enjoyed a no-sweat win over the no-show Poro squad that made their encounter a highly-anticipated one.

Pilar, however, was determined to win the game and go to the mainland of the Fifth District and succeeded after two straight sets, 25-15, 25-10.

With 2-1 win-loss card, Pilar gets the no. 2 spot in bracket B to join San Francisco again for the cross-over.

In bracket A, there are six squads vying for the semi-final tickets namely Sogod, Catmon, Carmen, Danao City, Compostela and Borbon.

Catmon is the defending champion in Cluster V while Sogod is the first-runner-up. - Caecent No-ot with Correspondent Marigold Lebumfacil
