Don Bosco starts strong in CebuFA-Aboitiz Cup

Defending champion Don Bosco College-A remained as the strongest force to reckon with even as Pepito Football Club earned its second win after dumping FC-Inter Lapu-Lapu at the start of their title retention bid in the boys'12 under division of the Aboitiz-CebuFA Football Cup at San Roque Football field in Subangdaku, Mandaue City yesterday.

DBC-A's convincing win was their first in this division since their first assignment that was against Sacred Heart School-Jesuit the other day was cancelled with the field not suitable for playing due to heavy downpour.

Yesterday, DBC never gave the Lapu-Lapu kickers the chance to score as they dominate the entire action.

The first half saw DBC-A banging in four goals and they added seven in the second half.

Chinno dela Calzada wasted no time as he made a goal under the first minute of the game as Miguel Caindec followed with back-to-back goals on the 14th and 18th minute.

A minute after Caindec's second goal, Junjay Arizabal logged his first of the four goals he made.

Seeing Lapu-Lapu helpless, Arizabal found another spot to score a minute from the start of the final half then followed by dela Calzada in the 27th minute before Arizabal scored again in the 33rd minute.

Christian Noel added another goal in the 37th minute, John Labajo in the 40th and Ethan Decena in the 43rd minute.

Then, Arizabal sealed the game with another goal, five minutes before the final whistle.

On the other hand, Pepito Football Club nailed back-to-back wins after silencing Bright Academy, 5-0.

After scoring a 1-0 win against Springdale last week, Pepito felt Bright Academy would be an easy task with Rogelio Castillon leading the charge with two goals.

John Gomora, John Melgo and Julius Cabigon also contributed a goal each for their team's victory.
