Mountainbike sensation Niño Surban claimed his second title in the Buglasan Mountainbike Race in Dumaguete City after ruling the fourth edition of the said event the other day.
Surban, who is carrying the banner of Efren C. Sanico (ECS)-Quickflight squad, made sure he never gets lost in the route again to claim the victory.
The 19-year-old Surban first joined the event in 2003 where he easily won the race.
The following year, Surban was poised to seize back-to-back titles as he zoomed ahead of the pack only to find out he was heading on a wrong way.
This year, Surban made another impressive finish, beating fellow Cebuano Randy "Negro" Carbonera by a wide margin.
Another Cebuano competitor, Robert "Gingging" Villaver, finished third in the 14-kilometer cross country race.
Some other Cebuanos also performed well with Eusebio Ravanes winning the juniors division title followed by Joseph Diez and Loren Codera.
Earl Vince Cadampog topped the seniors division, while Noel Famor came out second in the masters category.
