Sugbu, Lapu-Lapu Chapters rule Architect's badminton

Sugbo chapter's Kathleen Maceren and Karen Lim claimed championship title in the women's double category to lead the winners in the Architects Badminton Cup 2006 played Saturday at the Racquet Zone of Montebello Hotel in Lahug, Apas.

Maceren and Lim defeated Anne Marie Nuñez and Sharon Gonzaga also from Sugbo chapter to win the title.

Waldo Figuracion and Paolo Torres of JamesHardi Phils. Chapter lorded it over in the men's double- level E while the tandems of Raymund Vega and Lloyd Joseph Madera and Cresencio Tiong and Roy Damole both from Rajah Humabon chapter occupied the first runner-up and second runner-up places, respectively.

In the men's doubles for Level D, Lapu-Lapu Chapter's Laurence Young and Michael Quezon thrashed Sugbo chapter's Art Malamid and Rey Albert Dauz to win the title while Christopher Dy and Wilson Wang took the second runner-up honors.

Dennis Mayo and Elizabeth Montecillo grabbed the championship tilt in the mixed doubles for level E. Occupying the first runner-up slot is the team-up of Ericson Perez and Anne Marie Nuñez and they were followed by Mark Diaz and Sharon Gonzaga. Both pairs came from Sugbo Chapter.

In the Mixed doubles-level D, Lapu-Lapu chapter also swept the top three ranks. Alan and Roselani Choachuy got the championship award while pairs Jason and Michelle Ng as well as Christopher Dy and Gina Huang settled on the first runner-up and second runner-up slots, respectively.
