Badian started its ascent to the top Saturday, carting away victories over Ginatilan, 25-7, 25-11 and Dumanjug, 25-19, 25-20.
Yesterday, Badian was put to test and rallied a set down to pull down Alegria, 19-25, 25-14, 25-19.
The next two wins for Badian then came easy, as it drubbed Alcantara, 25-9, 25-16 and Moalboal, 25-16, 25-22.
Moalboal, on the other hand, also the same standings with Badian last Saturday, as it crushed Alcantara, 25-14, 25-20 and Ronda, 25-19, 25-12.
Yesterday, it defeated Dumanjug, 25-21, 25-9.
Unfortunately, it was not able to make to enter the cluster II championship when it lost to Badian.
The other matches last Saturday, saw Dumanjug winning over Alegria, 25-23, 25-19 and Alegria bouncing back to win over Ginatilan, 25-12, 25-11.
Also yesterday, Alcantara topped Ronda, 25-23, 25-12 while Dumanjug won over Ginatilan, 25-6, 25-12.
Cash prizes were given to the winners during the awarding ceremonies yesterday with Badian receiving P20,000 while runner-up Boljoon, got P10,000.
Badian and Boljoon will proceed to the semi-finals in Mandaue representing Cluster II together with Talisay and Minglanilla of Cluster I.
The Cluster III games of the Guv Cup next week will be held at the Barba Sports Complex in Toledo City. Toledo was the first runner-up titleholder last year and is the host in this year's Governor's Cup.
