Felmar Enterprises pace Tommy n Tony Cup

Felmar Enterprises of Emby Abatayo took an early lead with an unblemished record of three successive wins without defeat after drubbing San Guillermo, 108-92, last Thursday night in the elimination round of the second conference of the Cebu Athletics Basketball Association (CABA)- Tommy n Tony Cup basketball tournament at the San Nicolas Sports Complex, Brgy. San Nicolas.
Felmar ruled the first-half with a four-point lead, 49-45, but San Guillermo squad came-up huge in the third canto. Anchored by Domy Villacorta, Robin Yap and Albert Uy, San Guillermo pulled away a 34-18 run which enabled them to mount a 12-point advantage, 79-67, going into the final period.
San Guillermo, unfortunately cooled down in the final quarter, as Felmar caught fire and keyed a pivotal, 41-13, run sparked by former CIT Wildcat Jumie Ararao and six-foot-four Jordan Alano to complete the turnaround for the win.
Lito Donio was also a big factor for the win scoring 21 points mostly in the final half. The loss dropped San Guillermo to 1-2 win-loss card.
In the mainer of the double header, Garfield Five nipped AC Sports of Archie Baba, 118-117, in overtime.
Jaime Rodriguez split his two freebies in the last nine seconds of the regulation period to send the game to a five-minute extension at 108-all.
In the overtime period, both squads further engaged in an air-tight battle until flashy pointguard Danny Estrera of Garfield showed his charities in the last eight seconds of the contest to settle the issue for its second win in third outings while AC Sports is still at the cellar with no win.
Danny Estrera scattered a game-high of 35 points to power Garfield, which also drew support from Walas Vergara with 15 points, while former commercial player Reggie Licanda chipped in 14 points.
Chowking Mariano and Jaime Rodriguez scored 33 and 30 points, respectively, to lead AC Sports while Jun Dano and John Barcelon added 34 points combined in a losing offense.
