Top shotmakers from Bohol, Bacolod and Leyte also want to have a lion's share of the P20,000 cash prize at stake in the 1st Fisherman's Net Class B 9-Ball Tournament, which will kick off today at the garden area of The Fisherman's Net restaurant and sports bar near JY Square in Brgy. Lahug, this city.
The visiting cue artists from Cebu's neigboring provinces are expected to make the event more exciting as they will surely put up a tough challenge against the local boys in their quest for the P10,000 champion's purse.
The second and third placers will receive P5,000 and P3, 000, respectively. A consolation prize of P500 each will go to the fourth up to the eighth finishers.
Before the four-day poolfest commences, a formal registration will be done this 3 pm at the playing venue.
Registration fee is pegged at P200. Those who are already eliminated, but decide to join other qualifying round will be assessed with P150 re-entry fee.
The organizing committee led by The Fisherman's Net general manager Arlene Bucalin has reminded all the participants that proper sense of decorum should be strictly observed during the conduct of the tournament.
Meaning, those who will be wearing slippers, sleeveless shirts and short pants will not be allowed to play.
