BTA bowl classic 2006 rolls off at Bowlingplex

Over a hundred bowlers from all over the country will be eyeing for honors today in the Bowlingplex Tenpin Association Classic 2006 at the Gaisano Bowlingplex in Banilad.
Two National team members, Joonee Gatchalian and JC Tupaz, have confirmed their participation.
Aside from the two RP mainstays, top bowlers from Davao, Iloilo, Bacolod, Manila and Baguio are also expected to show up and give the host Cebuano keglers a run for their money.
Brothers Clark and Clarence Tiu are Cebu's top bet as well as Kim Lao and Alexis Sy and last year's master's champion Luther Tapaya.
The main objective of this Skygo Marketing Corporation-sponsored event is to establish good camaraderie among the bowlers from the different bowling associations and clubs affiliated with the Philippine Bowling Congress (PBC).
Participants will be playing a total of 16 games in the qualifying round with it to be divided into eight games per playing day.
The top 28 qualifiers will advance to the final round and play for eight games. The winner will be determined through the total number of pinfalls plus handicaps.
The champion will be pocketing P40,000 plus trophy while the second placer takes way P20,000 as the third to the sixth placers will get P10,000, P7,000, P5,000 and P3,000, respectively.
The seventh to the 13th place get P2,000 each and P1,000 for the rest under the top 28 list. Female bowlers also has something to look forward to like the special awards for the biggest output during the qualifying rounds with the biggest output to get P3,000 while the second will have P2,000 and P1,000.
Aside from that, P50,000 await the bowler who can make a perfect game.
In the event that more than one bowler can get the perfect game during the tournament, the award shall be shared equally amongst the bowlers involved based on the number of perfect games bowled.
