Corn Tee Invitational tees off Thursday in Danao

The 9th Corn Tee Invitational Golf Tournament tees off this Thursday at the Club Filipino Incorporada de Cebu course in Pulangyuta, Danao City.
The tournament will be a three-man team event with each squad to be composed of a club member and two guests. As of yesterday, a total of 108 teams have registered, said Ricarte Santos, chairman of the tournament.
The Modified Stableford Scoring System will be used for the 36-hole event that runs until Sunday with San Miguel Corporation as Platinum Sponsor.
Casino Filipino is the Diamond Sponsor while Cebu Mitsumi, Duros Development Corp., Newtrends International Corp., and Profood International Corp. are the Gold Sponsors.
Several prizes are lined up for a hole-in-one.
A Toyota Altis courtesy of Toyota Cebu City Inc. is at stake for an ace on holes 8 and 17. All par-3 holes also offer as hole-in-one prizes a Privacy Car from Norkis Automotive Resources, a Cebu-Dubai-Cebu ticket from Qatar Airways, and a Cebu-Hong Kong-Cebu ticket from Philippine Airlines.
Assisting Santos in running the tournament are Jose Mari Miranda and chairman of the ways and means committee, Raymund Calderon and Clark Gothong as co-chairmen of the handicap committee, and Lorenzo Padilla as chairman of the pairings and registration committee.
Renato V. Osmeña is the president of the club.
Skygo International Corp. is putting a motorcycle as an eagle prize.
