Hiroshi gets berth to represent Cebu in Visayas football

The Hiroshi Football Club gets the ticket to represent Cebu in the Visayas Men's Under-19 Championships in Bacolod City after dominating the Aboitiz-CebuFA Under-18 Football Cup yesterday at the Cebu City Sports Center.

Hiroshi sealed their bid with a 2-1 win against the University of San Carlos (USC).

Although the University of Cebu also won their last game against Don Bosco Boys Home, Hiroshi gets to represent Cebu in the regional action after earning more points at the end of the tournament.

Hiroshi has 10 points as against eight points of UC. Both squads ended the tournament with identical three wins and a draw card.

Hiroshi's last game saw Rodel Saranillo posting the first goal, 23 minutes down the battle.

USC's Michael Sharpe fired back and logged a goal three minutes later to tie the score at 1-all going into the final half

RJ Sembrano, however, saw an opportunity to score and succeeded in the 69th minute of the game, sealing their team's victory, 2-1.

UC, for its part, ended their quest with a 4-1 win against Don Bosco, thanks to the efforts of Jerome Batad and Ariel Repeso, who produced two goals each for UC while the losing squad saw Junvic Layao with his team's lone goal in the 77th minute of the action.

In another development, The Freeman learned that, Hiroshi already paid the P15,000 penalty slapped on them after engaging into a brawl in the last Thirsty Cup.

Same goes to the Crazy Dragons, who also recently paid P10,000 as team penalty for that same offense as Hiroshi.
