Table tennis event at E-Mall today

After taekwondo, it's going to be the table tennis competition that will kick off among the series of activities lined-up in the Elizabeth Mall's Sports Challenge Season 3 today at the E-Mall's activity center.

Defending champion University of Cebu-Team Cebu City men's team is ready to defend their crown with the Motel brothers, Emmanuel and Michael making up the core of the team.

But its third man will be Glendo Nayre since Jude Gantuanco already graduated college.

Nayre also a tried and tested player, making the defending champion still a very strong squad to deal.

UC-TCC-A won the men's open team competition last year over Cagayan de Oro.

But Cagayan, unfortunately, begged off due to financial constraints.

There will only be a men's division for the team event, but females, who are over 20 years-old, will be allowed to join the men's open team, says tournament director Jessica Jawad-Honoridez.

Over a hundred entries are expected to join the competition with the inclusion of four other divisions the boys and girls' 20-under and the 14-under action.
