Defending champs Webmasters, Lady Warriors lead Adidas Streetball-Cebu leg entries

-
The search for the Cebu representatives to the 2006 Adidas Streetball Challenge is on again this Saturday at the basketball court of the Sacred Heart School-Jesuit.

Among the schools, which already confirmed their participation are boys division defending champion the University of Cebu Webmasters, the University of the Visayas Green Lancers, the University of San Carlos Warriors, the University of San Jose-Recoletos-Jaguars and host Sacred Heart School for Boys-Jesuit, among others.

Defending champion, the USC Lady Warriors, is leading the charge in the girls division.

A competition for cagers 18-years old and below, the champion in the Cebu leg will no longer compete in the regional level and they will automatically earn tickets to the National Finals on August 12-13 in Manila.

This is because the legs in Bacolod City and Iloilo City were cancelled.

But local organizer Danny Villagracia of the Cebu City Sports Commission said entries from Bacolod City, Iloilo City and other teams from Western Visayas will be accepted to participate here in Cebu.

The deadline for the registration will be this Friday at the Adidas outlet at the Ayala Commercial Complex.

Handsome prizes will be at stake for the winners, including an all-expense paid trip to Manila for the National Finals.

More information about the tournament can he had with Villagracia at 09204921700 and Boy Murillo at 09198116043. - Rafael S. Alas III
