GLENN "D King" Aguilar showcased his prowess minus the pressure to dominate the 2nd Mayor Bobby Alquisola Memorial Cup Motocross Series the other day in Barili, Cebu.
Aguilar gave his fellow national team member Jon-jon Adlawan some neat lessons as he zoomed for the top post in two classes.
The young Adlawan settled second to Aquilar in the expert class while MS Motosuit Motocross Series league leader Irwin Ramas-Uypitching settled third.
In the 125 open, Aguilar and Adlawan had a 1-2 finish while Jubenile Abellar ended third.
But Adlawan bounced back to rule the novice production at the expense of Joshua Abellar and Clark Wagas.
Renan and Ryan Alquisola, sons of the late Mayor Alquisola, also grabbed part of the limelight after coming out with sterling performances.
Renan won the 65cc class against Daniel Miranda as Alfonzo Alegrado ended third.
Ryan, for his part, got the third place in the mini class.
Andot Rubi, the director for motocross and cycling of the Cebu City Sports Commission, also came to show his wares and ruled the veteran's A over Aloy Igot while Seigfred Ornopia was third.
Nonoy Reluya, on the other hand, won the veteran's B against Ornopia as Adonis Famador was third.
Abellar siblings, Jobannie and Samantha grabbed a championship trophy each after winning the intermediate class and mini class, respectively.
Donkey Sanchez outsmarted Jed Luna to claim the beginners production as Norman Pautan settled third.
Luna, however, was able to bounce back in the open enduro and 125 enduro against Sanchez as Bonnie Bustillo ended third.
Jigger Steves added excitement to the crowd after out-maneuvering Alduane Canlas, who made a surprise ride under the pantra class as Joy Jocson claimed the third spot.
Marco and Alfonzo Alegrado completed the cast of winners with their 1-2 finish in the peewee class of this PowerSports Racing-organized event.
