Banibane clinches June diadem in CEPCA chess

Miguel Banibane Jr. emerged as June's best in the Cebu Executives and Professionals Chess Association (CEPCA) Monthly Handicapping Chess Tournament even as he only ranked third overall during its monthly ranking at the Stella Maris Sea Fairer in Pier 4.
Yvez Fiel actually won the latest OUTING and he was trailed by Percy Fiel.
However, Yvez was only a guest participant and Percy is already a finalist for the final battle later this year giving way for Banibane, who was third, to grab the June edition title.
Banibane outsmarted Maggi Dionson for the title after posting four points and 14.0 Bucholz.
Dionson also finished with four points but only has 12 Bucholz.
Banibane lost to Yvez Fiel in the fifth and final round, 1-0.
Joe Atillo settled fifth overall with three points and 13.5 Bucholz.
