June 29, 2006 | 12:00am
The participating clubs of the 1st M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala Inter-Club Commercial Tennis Tournament have been given only until June 4 to submit their respective lineups.
Organized by the M. Lhuillier Sports Development Foundation through the initiative of its executive director Eddie Ybañez, the three-day netfest is set from July 21-23 at the Baseline tennis courts.
Ritchie Bacalso, one the organizing committee members, urged the officials of the different clubs to submit their rosters on time so they will have sufficient time to screen all the entries, thus, ensuring a balanced and fair classification of players.
Featuring categories A, B and C, the doubles tilt is open to all players from the different tennis associations in Cebu. Seeded/rated and varsity players, however, are not qualified to join.
Among those who have already confirmed to take part in the tournament are racquet-wielders from Baseline's Aga-Gising TC, Mandaue City TC, Naga, Tuburan, Liloan, St. Jude Acres TC, MANTAD's, Southern Islands Medical Center TC, Compostela, Pardo TC, Talisay TC, La Paloma TC, EversleyTC, PHO TC, PC Hills, SANCASE (San Carlos Seminary), BIR TC, Lapu-Lapu TC, and Abegail TC.
Each club is allowed to field in a maximum of three pairs in class A, five pairs in class B and seven pairs in class C.
