The lean but mean Team Cebu City squad sealed its quest in the Philippine Olympic Festival for Persons With Disabilities with a total of total of nine golds and four silvers at the Trace Aqua Center in Los Baños, Laguna yesterday.
After hauling an initial of two golds and two silvers, the Cebuanos were able to dig up seven more golds and two bronzes.
In the 50m freestyle, the orthopedically-handicapped Arnold Balais, Noel Gonzales and the six-footer blind swimmer Hilario Romano won a gold each.
Playing coach Rolando Alvarez, on the other hand, settled with another silver in the freestyle event.
Gonzalez and Romano ended with a triple gold after topping the 50m butterfly, the last event for the differently-abled swimmers.
Balais, a multi-titled paralympian, settled for a silver in the butterfly event to cap his bid with two golds and a silver.
