MLSDF to organize first ever tennis tournament

-
For the first time since its inception in 1994, the M. Lhuillier Sports Development Foundation (MLSDF) will be organizing a tennis event through the 1st M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala Inter-Club Commercial Tennis Tournament tentatively set in the third week of July at the Baseline tennis courts.

"This is the first time we're sponsoring a tennis competition since the MLSDF was formed 12 years ago so we will do everything to the best of our capability to ensure the successful staging of the event," said MLSDF executive director Eddie Ybañez.

Featuring categories A, B and C, the doubles tilt is open to all players from the different tennis clubs in Cebu. Seeded or rated players, however, are not qualified to compete in the three-day netfest.

Among those invited to join are tennis clubs from Mandaue, Naga, Tuburan, Liloan, Compostela, Pardo, Talisay, La Paloma, Ever Sly, PHO TC, PC Hills, SANCASE (San Carlos Seminary), BIR TC, and Villa Aurora.

Each club is allowed to field in a maximum of three pairs per category.

Ybañez is calling on all interested individuals to call him at 253-1105 or 0917-3251487 or Ritchie Bacalso at 0926-2481391 so they can set up an organizational meeting to finalize everything with regards to the conduct of the tournament.

Aside from tennis, MLSDF is also actively involved in supporting other sporting disciplines such as basketball, softball, boxing, football, futsal (indoor football), and baseball.
