Prima-Lactopafi I grabs Guv Cup bowling crown

Prima-Lactopafi, who entered a total of four squads in the 2nd Governor Gwendolyn Garcia Bowling Tournament, came out successful after one of its bets bagged the championship trophy in the four-day competition at SM City-Cebu's Bowling Center.

Prima-Lactopafi-I played consistently to win the title against 25 other squads. They had a total of 9,471 pinfalls.

The champion team opened their bid with 2,349 pins to take the driver's seat after the first day of competition. In the second outing, Mint Shop was at the forefront with 2,366 while Prima-Lactopafi-I had 2,322 for third place. Prima-Lactopafi-I bounced back and took the top post in the third day with 2,491 pins and sealed its bid with 2,309 pinfalls.

Prima-Lactopafi-I's closest opponent, Mint Shop settled second with 9,279. CETBA Juniors grabbed the third spot, defeating veteran bowlers in the line after toppling a total of 9,096 pins.

Sulpicio Lines was fourth with 9,001 and Phone & Gadgets 1 was at fifth place with 8,936 pinfalls.

Rounding up the top 10 cast were General Feeds with 8,853 pinfalls, Prima-Lactopafi-B (8,705), San Jose Ladies (8,656), Rich Catsup Men (8,562), and Medical Specialist with 8,527 pinfalls.

Aside from the overall title, Prima-Lactopafi-I also posted the highest team series scratch with 2,491 made during the third day of competition plus the highest team single scratch of 877.

Prima-Lactopafi's B squad was also given a special award after emerging as the top female squad among the female competitors.

On the other hand, Jomar Jumapao came out the best in the master's event with 1,708 pinfall in eight games.

Alexis Sy trailed Jumapao with 1,634 and Roland Bantillan was third spot with his 1,630 pins.

Jumapao also had the highest individual series scratch with 691 pinfalls and Nestor Longcanaya with the highest individual single scratch award after toppling 265 pins in this Cebu Tenpin Bowling Association-organized event.
