University of Cebu's Michael Motel and the rest of the national team bets open their bid in the Southeast Asian Table Tennis Championships today in Singapore.
Motel is the only Cebuano player who got an RP team slot to the Singapore event. He will be joined by multi-titled coach Jessica Jawad-Honoridez.
The sterling performance of Motel during the PNP Invitational Tournament in Cotabato and in the recent national selection paved the way for his inclusion to the RP squad.
The rest of the RP delegates to Singapore are Richard Gonzales, Henberd Ortalla, Rodel Valle and Arlene Borja.
Honoridez said she will not be competing in Singapore, but if the situation calls for it, she might be playing again just like in the Cotabato tilt last month.
The RP squad will see action all events including the men's and women's team, singles, doubles and mixed doubles.
