The University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) will be eyeing a ticket to the national finals of the Shakey's Girls Volleyball Invitational League as the Cebu elimination enters its final day today at the University of San Carlos gym.
The USJ-R squad currently stands at the top of the leaderboard with four wins and no loss while Don Gerardo Ouano National High School is relegated to second place with 4-1.
The University of Southern Philippines-Foundation is at third spot with three wins and a loss.
Mandaue City Comprehensive National High School dropped to fourth with 3-2, the University of San Carlos with 1-4, Pit-os National High School with 1-4 and the University of Cebu without a win.
USJ-R still has two more games left, tackling first DGONHS and then the equally-talented USPF next.
USC, on the other hand, faces MCCNHS and Pit-os even as USPF plays opposite UC before meeting USJ-R.
The penultimate round comes up next with the no.1 squad meeting the no.4 and the no.2 going up against the no.3 squad.
The winners in both matches will play in championship game and the lossers to battle the third spot in this Spike Sports and Cebu Volleyball Federation-organized event.
The event is also supported by Dunkin Donuts, Toby's Sports, Mikasa, Air Philippines and ASICS and sanctioned by the Philippine Volleyball Federation.
