Mark Dy and Michael Go top CCC qualifying

Mark Dy and Michael Go bagged the top honors over the weekend in the qualifying rounds for the Cebu Country Club 2005 Club Championships.
The matchplay rounds of the tournament will start today with 24 matches scheduled starting at 9 am.
Dy, a young businessman, topped the battle for lowest gross honors shooting rounds of 73 and 72 for a total of one-over-par 145.
Go, a banker, had two consistent rounds under par nailing 68 and 66 for a total of 134 and won the lowest net honors of the 36-hole event.
The class A title went to Gabriel Yap with a net 134 while Jojo Tiongko was runner-up with a net 137.
Susumu Hangai topped class B with a total net score of 134 edging first runner-up Alex Garcia in the countback.
Luis Velez slipped past Bruno Gonzalez in class C as he two bagged the title and runner-up honors respectively with identical net scores of 135.
Masao Koike scored 135 to top class D while Raymond Ong had 140 to take the runner-up plum.
Jose Luis Madrazo won the title for the seniors' class with 136 over the 137 of first runner-up Rudy Lizares.
Anthony Jackson won the superseniors' crown with his 136 while taking the runner-up honors was Danny Deen with 145.
Dy opens today's matches as he goes up against Jonji Chiongbian, the 16th seed, in the Championship division.
The other matches for the premiere class pits Monito Garcia (2) vs. Gilbert Yap (15), Eric Deen (3) vs. Marc Gonzalez (14), and Jojo Tiongko (4) vs. George Hong (13).
The last four matches for the Championship category will pit Jovi neri (5) vs. Susumu Hangai (12), Gabriel Yap, Jr. (6) vs. Kim Sung Min (11), Marko Sarmiento (7) vs. Charles Hong (10), and Joseph Stevens (8) vs. Tadashi Ochiai (9).
Deen is the defending champion of the event. Carl Almario, who won the title several times, is not seeing action this year due to an injury.
In the seniors' division, topseed Joseph Yukayguan faces Boy Gonzaga (8) while Masaya Hishida (2) goes up against Masatsugi Ochiai (7). The last two matches are between Sammy darza (3) vs. Julius Neri (6) and Rudy Lizares (4) vs. Ben Dapat (5).
The class B line-up will have Wendell Yap (1) vs. Kenneth Dyguani (8), Michael Go (2) vs. Jimmy Sy (7), Alex Garcia (3) vs. Charles Daniel Uy (6), and Nolan Rada (4) vs. Anthony Bejar (5).
For class C, Bruno Gonzalez (1) vs. Ed Alegrado (8), Henry Dy (2) vs. Hidetaka Murano (7), Jojo Ong (3) vs. Jose Mari Cañizares (6), and Jose Luis Madrazo (4) vs. Andrew Si (5).
