Chikakoy, Day log first wins in PPSA caging

Chikakoy and Day logged their first win in the Punta Princesa Sports Association (PPSA) Guardo Cup-2006 Summer basketball tournament after defeating their respective opponents at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Gym in Punta Princesa.

Chikakoy got its first victory at the expense of S&D Meatshop, 92-87.

Both squads fought on even terms until the closing minutes of the ballgame when the action saw it 85-all but Wendel Labajo found an opportunity to connect a three-point and cut the tie, 88-85 with 40 seconds remaining.

S&D MeatShop despite Makoy Villagonzalo's impressive performance continued to get disorganized and sent Chikakoy's Bradket Dawson and Baeong Medalle to the free-throw line that sealed their team's victory.

In the other game, DAY benefited from an undermanned San Roque to grab its first win, 87-65 to get into the winner's circle.
