Sallymae Siso pockets 2 titles in Gullas tennis

Sallymae Siso made another emphatic performance as she closed her campaign in the 11th Gullas Cup Age Junior Tennis Championships with two crowns even as the finals resume today at the Cebu Country Club tennis courts.
Siso, the bet of Central Visayas in the coming Palarong Pambansa in Naga City, pocketed the championship titles in the 12 and 14 under divisions.
She started her impressive conquest in the 12 and under division where she toppled Janice Cañete, 6-1, 6-0.
Her second trophy was won over Cristel Mae Buenacosa, 6-1, 6-2.
Also in the road for two championship trophies is RP Team member Macy Solon of Dumaguete City.
Yesterday, she defeated the equally-strong Floreza Alesna of University of San Carlos, 6-2, 6-3, to clinch the title in the 18 and under division.
Today, she will meet Lovely Soquiño for the crown in the 16 and under division.
Solon snatched a ticket to the finals in the 16 and under after beating Sallydine Siso, 7-5, 6-1, while Soquiño dumped Buenacosa, 6-4, 6-3.
Also today, the finals in the boys division will unfold with James Carl Cañete and Jacob Lagman leading the final cast in their respective age brackets.
Cañete barged into the finals of the 18 and under division with a 6-3, 7-6 victory over Jeedrie Tan to meet Julrico Pagsiap, a 6-3, 6-3 winner over Ryan Repunte.
Lagman, on the other hand, will go for the title in the 12 and under boys after beating Joel dela Torre, 6-1, 6-0.
He will face Carlo Ledesma, who won over Kim Ayuda, 6-2, 6-1.
Niño Siso, for his part, will try to match her sister's sizzling performance as he faces Jayvee Canoy for the title in the 14 and under division.
Niño marched to the finals after defeating John Arnel Go, 6-2, 6-3, while Canoy made it to the championship round with a 4-6, 6-1, 10-6 triumph over Christian John Cabahug.
The 16 and under title will be battled out by Raymund Padigos, who won over Jommer Pabu, 7-5, 6-4, against Kennex Abadia.
Abadia won over Larry Antigua, 6-3, 3-6, 11-9.
