Class '98 routs '99 in CECABA hoopfest

Cokaliong Shipping '98 dominated the game from start to finish to demolish Cebu Pacific Transport '99, 83-63, in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association's 8th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup last Sunday at the City Sports Club Cebu gym.
In the second game, Big Boss '96 won by forfeiture over Juvis Marketing 2003 to top Division I with a 9-1 win-loss record.
Elvis Evagelista had another solid game finishing with 25 points on top of 13 rebounds and four steals, while Robinsyon Yap was equally impressive with 21 points, 11 rebounds, three blocks, three steals and two assists as Class '98 wound up its elimination round campaign at No.5 spot with a 6-4 slate.
After racing to a 39-30 lead at halftime, Class '98 pummeled Class '99 in the remaining two quarters with a variation of inside and outside attacks for the 20-point blowout.
Albert Uy topped Class '99 with 23 points, while Genseric Rowie Tan and Lawrence Lauron cashed in 15 and 12 markers, respectively, in a losing cause.
Class '99 also ended the qualifying phase with a 6-4 card, but was relegated to sixth spot by Class '98 by virtue of winner-over-the-other rule.
