Brian Lo stars anew for Class 2000 in CECABA

-
For the second consecutive time, John Brian Lo fought like a man possessed to power JRJ Enterprises 2000 to a 79-69 drubbing of Cokaliong Shipping '98 in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association's 8th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup last Sunday at the City Sports Club of Cebu gym.

In a carbon copy of his all-around performance during their upset win over Class '94, Lo finished with 28 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, and five steals for Class 2000, which broke a 64-all deadlock after three quarters with a 15-5 blitz in the windup to seal their sixth win in nine starts.

Four players cashed in double figures for Class '98 led by Robinson Yap's 22 points, but still they fell short-handed in the end as they suffered their third loss in seven games.

On the other hand, the dreaded tandem of Anwar Satina and Wellington Yu also created a huge impact as they helped Dendramil Merchandizing '94 hand the previously unbeaten Big Boss '96 its first taste of defeat this season via a 72-58 demolition.

Yu had 26 points and 14 rebounds, while Satina came up with an incredible triple-double, tossing in 20 points and season-highs 17 rebounds and 13 assists for Class '94, which now earned a share of the lead with its victim on identical 7-1 win-loss cards.

It was no less than a sweet redemption for Class '94 after coming off a heart-breaking loss to Class 2000, which was then led by Lo with a season-best 29 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists, and three steals.

Shaun Christopher Wang had 14 points, while Gerald Go and Rogelio Donayre chipped in 13 and 11 markers, but their efforts proved futile as Class '96 saw its seven-game win streak come to a screeching halt.

In the other game of a featured triple-header, Emerson Go fired a season-high 21 points and Tommy Yu added 20 markers , half of it he made in a 24-8 second-quarter assault that steered Young Builders '91 to an 87-60 thrashing of Villa Shipping '70s.

Kevin Co, Chester Benedict Go, and Juan Borromeo Jr. combined for 39 points as Class '91 bettered its win-loss record to 5-2.

Antonio Go had a monster game with season-highs 21 points and 18 rebounds, but couldn't save Class '70s from absorbing its seventh straight setback.
