Ornopia Cup reels off April 9 in San Remigio

All roads will lead to San Remigio in April 9 as the 8th Ornopia Cup kicks off in the natural terrain racetrack in Calambua.

The competition, which produced some of the best dirtbikers in the local and national scene, is organized by Lu Ornopia and MS Motosuit.

The event is held as the organizers' contribution for the continuity of the sport and as a way of giving back something to their customers.

Ornopia said the racetrack in Calambua was designed to accommodate as many riders as possible, especially those in the peewee class.

Peewee riders now dare to race even on big obstacles and Jon-Jon Adlawan of Sacred Heart School-Jesuit is one of the fast-rising riders in the country, who traces his roots in the track.

Popeye Rubi, another top-caliber rider who started out in the lower division in the Ornopia Cup, have improved one stage after the other until he defeated his father, Pepo in the pro class.

Ornopia expects new riders to shine to give veterans a run for their money.

Aside from the thrill the event offers, cash prizes and trophies are also up for grabs.
