After a grandslam finish in the 2006 PRISAA National Games, the University of Cebu men's team are set to face tough challenge against older and more seasoned opponents in this year's PNP National Invitational from April 5 to 7 in General Santos City.
The Freeman learned that the Motel brothers-Emmanuel and Michael- are all set for action in the Mindanao tournament.
The third player for the UC-TCC squad will be a toss up between Jay Iribert Impuesto and Glendo Nayre.
Coach Jessica Jawad-Honoridez has yet to choose between the two players, who are also part of the winning team in the PRISAA.
Aside from preparing her wards for the GenSan event, Honoridez is also keeping the rest of her players in top shape as they are scheduled to hold a summer clinic.
The summer clinic will take place from April 1 to May 31.
Usually, some young and potential table paddlers are welcome to join the clinic.
Honoridez is also waiting for the go signal from the Table Tennis Association of the Philippines with regards to the staging of this year's National Open here.
"I'm still awaiting for the guidelines, but most likely, it will push through here in Cebu," Honoridez said.
